    For those itching to learn a few samba steps to show off when you get home or get lost in the sound of the cuica (an ingenious instrument that makes a squeaking noise) or indeed, just get lost for the night, we are just a stones throw away from the highly successful music and cultural area of Rio, Lapa. You can go out in Lapa for the night and be back home by taxi within 5 minutes.

SAFETY ALERT: Be aware of the old woman who’s quick to steal your shoes while you’re trying on beautiful, hand-crafted anklets . We don’t know whether she is in kahoots with the jeweller but our Australian guest’s boyfriend had to pay 10 reais to get them back.

     

  • Churrasco Nights- Brazilian style barbecues


Every Sunday you can enjoy a churrasco. Vinicius, our grill expert, prepares an all out Brazilian-style barbecue for our guests.

  • Garden Lounge area

    This outside lounge must be the most popular area in the house. Good for relaxing and reading, good for socializing, good for listening to background music and amazing to look out at the mango trees and city beyond.

  • Samba Jam sessions

    Our musician friends swing by regularly, bringing their guitar and talents.
